By Steve On The Road - Gnome, Alaska This past weekend was the biggest travel day of the year, but you'd never know it if you were on the beach in Alaska. Alaskan beaches are the best kept secret of the year. Beautiful, pristine and clean, Alaskan beaches offer much more than just a place to pitch your umbrella. The second best kept secret of the internet, is a Winter beach. Winter is the ideal time to go to the beach. It's not hot. You don't need to lug a heavy ice chest. The beach is cleaner and definitely less crowded.

Nothing but you and mother, mother ocean (now without the sand!). Best beaches I’ve ever gnome!!! No sandy grit. Lots of Fluff. You could even go naked and I don't think anyone would mind. Alaskans have really refined the Winter beach concept. I should know all about beaches, since I spent 22 years in the Navy (Retired). They have decorated the beaches in advance for Christmas.

These carved wooden Christmas trees, make these Alaskan beaches look just like a Winter Wonderland!
Well this is really fun, but my snow castle and Eskimo pie will have to wait; because right now, I'm late to see Seal in concert! I believe this is his first concert since Heidi Klum gave birth to his son. Lots of wildlife at night. I hope I can cop me a moosehead at the concert!

They even have this white powder in the ladies rooms! Seal In Concert The snow-cones are free at all Alaska's beaches!
