On the road, street-reporter Steve was certain that he
had
used Rich Bossmund's petty cash to buy a real life leprechaun for St.
Patrick's Day. Well,
as certain as the 22 years he served in the Navy.
Mr. Bossmund was not amused. Had it not been for the fact that Bossmund
recognized that ole Steve may had accidentally stumbled upon the origin of
the piggy bank, he may have been tossed out on a sow's ear.
According to Steve, a man named O'Smalley, sold him a what he said was a
real life leprechaun, and told Steve not to look at it in the face for fear
that the magical imp might place a spell on him.
When Rich Bossmund peered inside
the
crate, he chuckled that he hoped that Steve wouldn't get tired of extra
sausage on his pizzas for the next 12 months. What Steve had bought was
actually a lepreham.
When JBN editor Chas Laser caught up with O'Smalley, he could understand
from hearing the man's thick accent, why Steve might have thought he heard
the word, leprechaun. But the man said that he had "claimed it was a leper's
ham all along, and that was the tooth!"
