The second ranking man in al-Qaida organization
played down box office numbers this week when he addressed Batman
directly in a new video taped review. Ayman al-Zawahiri strongly
challenged "the caped and masked crusader to make change in the
Islamic world." He said that "al-Jihad is the only way to reform the
Nation of Islam."
Ayman al-Zawahiri went on to make a distinction that
he was no "Robin, the Boy Wonder, to Osama bin Laden's Riddler!"
Almost immediately, Robin issued his own fatwa,
stating "Holy smokes! Batman! We may be in a world of shiite!"
Batman (Christian Bale) began checking his utility
belt for any possible Mid-East currency that Bruce Wayne or Alfred
may have left there in the event of just such an occasion as making
change for a maniacal fundamentalist extremist.
Will Zawahiri get his due from Gotham's caped
crusaders?
Will Robin ever see the sunnis shine again?
Will Batman ever get to eat his Dinar?
