Editor Ups S.E.T.I. @ Home.Chas Laser, Editor for Junk Bros News and amateur ufologist*, "upped" his seti@home screen saver hoping to be the first person to find proof of extraterrestrials as intelligent life in the universe. Laser "hard-wired" his screen with a recycled DirectTV satellite dish antenna and a microwave to create his own radio telescope and pointed the antenna "up there." After tweaking his "system" with the addition of an I-pod, Laser downloaded an audio signal from the star Vega which is 25 light years away from earth. After running this signal thru the seti@home screensaver software, he was amazed to hear Ricky Ricardo chirping: “LUCY! I’m home”. The signal Laser was receiving was generated here on earth 50 years ago and had bounced off a Chevy Vega and returned. "I know it would be cooler to have an actual Vegan talking, but Desi Arnaz will have to do." Later this month Laser will aim his antenna towards a Saturn to catch Bevis and Butthead. "It may just be the audio only," explains Laser, "but it's still cheaper than broad-band." Laser wants to publish his findings in either a gentleman's quarterly or a women's monthly. Besides his SETI research, Laser claims he has "proof that the constellation Virgo is pregnant and that the suspected father is probably Leo." Laser also has a photograph which he claims shows a daytime UFO encounter in the woods. "The sunspots are being canceled-out by that big blinding emanating white-light!"

and forming logical, reasonable hypothesises.
