This delightful young chap is the driver at the
centre of the Naas (Naise) Road in South Dublin mayhem last Sunday. He is a
former British policeman who also once worked with Dublin Bus. 36-year-old
Peter Clarke served as a police constable in the City of London Police from
1992 to 1994.
On
Sunday 7th of May Peter Clarke stole a 53 seater coach bus and took it for a
joy ride which turned into rampage.
He took the bus from his employers Dualway Coaches
and hit dozens of cars with it forcing them out of his way. He hit one car
hard and killed 61 year old Maire Buckley, a retired schoolteacher.
Police
fired bullets at the tyres but with no results, they even tried a tyre spike
strip but the tyres were solid rubber. Clarke smashed into three Garda
(Police) cars injuring several policemen, before heading back to where he
took the bus from and making a last minute attempt to probably kill himself
and possibly some of his former bosses too he rammed the bus into the side
of the bus depot. Much to his disappointment Clarke didn’t die but was only
slightly injured. Police gave him a black eye and took him away to see the
Judge, nice one lads!
