A Soho 13-year-old male has been jailed in the
Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward in Manhattan for allegedly impersonating an
undercover NYC police officer who was impersonating a 15-year-old boy who
was trying to arrange meetings for sex to take place 'At The Y.M.C.A.'
The juvenile offender, a life-time resident in
Manhattan’s Meatpacking district, now claims he has never been to Greenwich
Village, and doesn't know any of the Village People.
In the first case of its kind, the prosecuting
district attorney plans to present before a grand jury an indictment on
eight felony counts. He's accused of chatting with a man that he thought was
a 55-year-old law enforcement officer, and then arranging to meet him for
sex at the Y.M.C.A. after re-pretending to be "a cop with a regular beat."
The youth had numerous illicit conversations with the real street cop for
about a week before they arranged a time to meet and pull out their
night-sticks and handcuffs.
The arresting officer and youth's chatting partner
was under the impression that the boy was one of New York's finest, when he
agreed to play "Good Cop - Bad Cop" with the boy. The two met online at MySpace.com, where, although the boy had first pretended to be a 15-year-old
boy named "Coray," the officer noticed that his profile showed that he was a
motorcycle cop in his forties, with a real last name of "Pimpenhaggend."

Pimpenhaggend is now listed as one of the boy's
known aliases.
According to a spokesperson for the D. A.'s office,
"unfortunately, kids kind of put too much information on these sites, which
allows them, especially predator kids, to prey on innocent police officers."
Police seized the boy's computer equipment pursuant
to the arrest, that is now being termed an internet sting job.
